This page explains what personal information Super Cover Check collects through this website, why, who sees it, and how you can ask for it to be corrected or deleted. It's written in plain English. If anything here is unclear, email admin@miadvice.com.au.
Who we are
Super Cover Check is run by miadvice (Kyle Frost), 23 Queenscliff Place, Mardi NSW 2259, ABN 80 620 929 309. We run this site and are responsible for the information described below.
What stays on your device
The calculators work in your browser. The ages, pay, cover amounts and answers you type in are not sent to us. Saved quotes and saved results are kept in your browser on your device. If you use Save my results or Email my quotes, what you saved is packed into a link or email that you control. Anyone you give that link to can read it, so only share it with people you trust, and think before including health answers.
What we collect when you contact us
- Newsletter: your email address, first name if you give one, the topics you pick, and the time you agreed. We use these to send the newsletter. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Contact message: your name, email and message, so we can reply.
- Broker referral: your name, contact details, the quote or cover details you choose to include, and any message. If you tick the box to share health answers, those too. We ask for your consent before sending anything. Health information is sensitive, so we only include it if you choose to.
How we use and share it
- Newsletter details are used only to send the newsletter you asked for. We don't sell or rent them.
- A broker referral is sent to our partner broker so they can contact you about cover. They handle your information under their own privacy policy once they have it. We don't pass your details to anyone else for marketing.
- We use email and form services to receive messages and send the newsletter. They store the information for us and may keep it on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. We choose providers that protect data and don't use it for their own marketing.
Cookies and tracking
We don't use advertising cookies. The site stores your saved quotes and preferences in your browser's local storage on your device. If we add analytics later, we will say so here.
Keeping your information safe
Information is sent over encrypted connections and held by the providers above. We keep newsletter details until you unsubscribe, contact messages and referral records for as long as needed to deal with them and meet legal obligations, and then delete them. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't send us anything you wouldn't be comfortable with us holding.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time with the link in any email, or by emailing us.
- Ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing admin@miadvice.com.au. We'll respond within 30 days.
- If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, tell us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
